ABOUT TEEN 'MPower (2024 Beneficiary)

We are a group of LGBTQ+ youth and allies who come together and make memories. We support one another and recognize one another for who we are, not who the world wants us to be. We are truly safe to be ourselves, and the staff support us in what we want to do.

Serious stuff we talk about:

We can talk about issues that affect us, like challenges around being LGBTQ+ in school, what we need from allies, or tips and tricks for challenging gender roles and expectations. We can learn about safer sex and HIV prevention in fun ways, and about healthy relationships. We also learn what other members of our LGBTQ+ community are up to.

Less serious stuff you can expect:

  • There’s ALWAYS free food
  • Games and music
  • Fun and funny people
  • Movie and TV marathons are a must
  • Dance parties definitely happen
  • Super Smash Bros. is brilliant
  • The couches are super comfy
  • Did we mention free food?
